Yamaha Announces New Features, Enhanced Video Conferencing and Improved Pricing for the CS-800 Video Sound Bar and CS-500 Video Collaboration System.

RELLINGEN, November 7, 2023 - Yamaha has today made the latest Version 1.2 firmware available for the CS-800 Video Sound Bar and CS-500 Video Collaboration System, which brings several improvements. Along with remote device management via WiFi and improved meeting quality, Yamaha is also offering both units at a significantly more competitive price point.

The CS-800 and CS-500 enhance the remote meeting experience with advanced audio and video features. Yamaha's SoundCap Eye™ technology means the CS-500/800 can be used in open spaces, radically increasing the variety of locations that can be used for high quality remote collaboration. They are certified for Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Barco ClickShare*, assuring users that the units work seamlessly with the most popular platforms.

Available as a free download, the latest Version 1.2 firmware adds new functions for batch firmware updates over a network (via Wi-Fi) and batch import of configuration files, making it possible to configure multiple CS series units with the same settings. These features have been added in response to customer requests, saving time and making maintenance easier for systems administrators, thus reducing costs through centralised system management.

For users, the new firmware enhances the image quality of the CS-800 and CS-500 cameras. The Smart Framing function has been improved, which automatically zooms in on the speaker's facial expressions. Subtler differences in expressions can be captured, enabling emotions to be more accurately gauged from the image and allowing for even more personal, friendly and lively discussions.

Further improvements have also been made to Face Focus Beamforming and Self-Silence, enabling smoother communication from open spaces. Together with the improvements in the V1.2 firmware, Yamaha has announced more competitive pricing, the CS-500 now having a suggested retail price (SRP) of 499,00 € (exc. VAT) and the CS-800 an SRP of 649,00 € (exc. VAT).

"With the latest firmware we have brought real improvements to the video conferencing and collaboration experience for CS series users, while making Yamaha's advanced technology even more accessible with revised pricing," says Marcus-Michael Müller, Manager Sales & Marketing UC at Yamaha Music Europe. "System management over WiFi and certification by leading platforms make the CS-500 and CS-800 an even more attractive option for IT administrators and anyone needing the highest quality remote collaboration, even in open spaces."

* Barco Clickshare certification is for the CS-800 only.
